It’s been a while since my previous makeup review. Lately, I’ve been all about skin and hair care rather than makeup products, but it’s so refreshing to come back to my roots once in a while! So, as you may have guessed, today we are going to take a closer look at a skin primer, the one that makes your skin lie…because it’s the “Skin Liar” by Elizavecca. This Korean brand is mostly known for its skincare products, but they also have quite a few makeup products in their range, so I wouldn’t miss trying it for the world!
About the Elizavecca Skin Liar
In addition to skin-smoothing ingredients, the formula is reinforced with caring and hydrating ingredients. We’ll definitely dissect them further for more information! This primer is meant to fill in pores and fine lines, all while keeping skin balanced and hydrated. Elizavecca also claims it has a whitening and wrinkle-reducing effect on the skin, which, as always, sounds intriguing.
You can buy your very own tube of Skin Liar via Amazon or the official Elizavecca store. You’ll get 30 ml (1.01 oz) of the primer for approximately $18.

Packaging:
Let’s begin the review with the packaging design. This is my official statement: Skin Liar has the most original packaging design among all the Elizavecca products I’ve tried so far! The product has been on the market for a while, so you can spot the original Elizavecca logo on the box. This time, the product’s theme looks like an 8-bit platformer game (something in the style of Super Mario), where it has to navigate through a world of pesky pores and blackheads. It’s super cute and unusual. I love how it was made. Who is the brilliant mind behind the design?
Texture and Scent:
Elizavecca also claims that this is an essence-type primer, so you’ll need to shake the bottle well before applying it to the skin. The texture is truly fluid-like and seems to have two different consistencies: a peach, silicone-like cream and a translucent, oily-like fluid. When you shake the primer, these two textures combine to create a single texture with a silky feel.

Ingredients:
And what about ingredients? Well, Elizavecca never fails in this field, but let’s inspect, shall we? As I`ve already mentioned, the Skin Liar is a silicone-based primer (take it into consideration when shopping for a perfect primer + foundation combo!), so the main ingredient in the formula is Cyclopentasiloxane, which is a type of synthetic silicone widely used in personal care products. It’s valued for its smooth, silky texture and a non-greasy feel, making it a perfect base for primers and hair serums.
Another major ingredient in the primer is glycerin, a non-allergenic agent that has a strong capacity to attract and retain moisture from the air and from deeper layers of the skin. This is a simple yet powerful ingredient often underestimated in skincare products!

How to Use Skin Liar Primer?
To use Skin Liar Primer, first ensure your face is clean and moisturized. Before applying, shake the bottle well. Dispense a small, pea-sized amount onto your fingertips or a makeup brush. You can add a tad more later, if necessary. Gently smooth a thin, even layer over your skin, paying special attention to areas with pores or uneven texture. The lightweight, silky formula is designed to blur imperfections and create a matte, porcelain-like finish. Allow the primer to fully dry and set for a minute or two before proceeding with your makeup routine, as this will help extend the wear of your foundation and create a flawless foundation.

My Experience:
In my experience, less is always more when it comes to makeup, so such a subtle correction is much appreciated. You start understanding it with age, when the skin stops appreciating heavy layers and textures. The staying power is on point, too. It doesn`t seem to rub off like some primers, and with a correct setting, it lasts all day long.
Final Verdict…
Hydration: 👍👍👍👎(7/10)
Texture: 👍👍👍👎(6/10)
Overall: 👍👍👍👎 (7/10)
The primer is great, especially for the price. Caring ingredients? Check! Feather-like feel? Yes! The main pro of the product is its light, almost invisible feel and look on the skin. At the same time, some of you may find it a con, as it doesn’t really fill in the deep pores. I try to understand and accept my current skin condition; therefore, for me, it is great! The primer doesn’t clog the pores (even though it has a few different silicones in the formula), but it softly smoothes the skin. You can wear it on its own, if you prefer, just don’t forget to use sunscreen.
